Welcome Youth Ministers, Parish Leaders, Adult Core, Religious & Clergy

Our annual ELEVATE Youth Ministers training day will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at St. Augustine of Canterbury (80 Shoreham Dr, North York, ON M3N 1S9).

Registration opens at 8:15 a.m.
Begins at 9 a.m.; final announcements at 4 p.m.
St Augustine of Canterbury has a 5 p.m. vigil Mass.

For 10+ years, the Office of Catholic Youth has organised a two-day program to help adults (on Saturday) and teens (on Sunday) not only get the fundamental training to execute youth ministry at their parishes, but also continue to go deeper in keeping experienced leaders up to date with trends and topics relevant to working with high school youth and older elementary kids. Through speakers, workshops and networking, it provides options and opportunities for the Catholic youth ministry community to grow and develop in their local parishes as well as for each attendee.

1. Registration is $50/ person for the day (lunch and snacks included)

CONSENT AND RELEASE

By registered for an attending Elevate YMTD 2026, I acknowledge to the following
Participation and Assumption of Risk
I understand that participation in Elevate YMTD is voluntary. While reasonable precautions will be taken to promote a safe environment, I acknowledge that attendance at conferences, workshops, training sessions, meals and related activities may involve certain risks, including but not limited to accidental injury, illness, property damage or loss of personal belongings. I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation in Elevate YMTD and accept personal responsibility for my conduct and well-being during the event.

Release and Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I release and hold harmless the hosting parish, its pastor, staff, ministry volunteers, and affiliated organisations including OCY from any claims, demands, actions, damages, losses, liabilities, costs or expenses arising from or related to my participation in Elevate YMTD, except where such liability results from gross negligence or willful misconduct. I acknowledge that I am responsible for my own personal property and transportation arrangements.

Medical and Emergency Authorization
I affirm that I am physically able to participate in Elevate YMTD and will exercise reasonable judgment regarding my health and safety. In the event of a medical emergency in which I am unable to provide consent, I authorise OCY and St Augustine of Canterbury staff to seek emergency medical treatment on my behalf and contact my emergency contact listed in my registration. I understand that I am responsible for any medical expenses incurred as a result of such treatment.

Code of Conduct
I agree to conduct myself in a respectful, professional and Christian manner throughout Elevate YMTD. I will treat all participants, speakers, volunteers and staff with dignity and respect. I will follow all venue policies and safety instructions. I will respect the parish facilities and property. I understand that organisers may remove any participant whose conduct is deemed unsafe, disruptive, unlawful or inconsistent with the mission and values of Elevate YMTD.

Photography, Video and Media Release
I understand that photographs, video recordings, livestreams, audio recordings and other media may be captured during Elevate YMTD. By attending, I grant OCY permission to be photographed and recorded to be used reasonably and respectfully in publications and social media posts.

Privacy and Collection of Personal Information
Personal information collected through registration will be used for Elevate YMTD administration, participant communication, emergency response, attendance management and related ministry event purposes. Information will be handled in accordance with the Archdiocese of Toronto privacy policies. Personal information will not be sold to third parties nor added to subscriptions or promotions.

Event Communications
I consent to receive communications related to Elevate YMTD 2026, including registration confirmation, invoice and billing, schedule updates, venue information, emergency notifications and post-event follow-up materials only.

Safe Environment and Safeguarding
I acknowledge my responsibility to uphold all applicable safeguarding, child protection, abuse prevention, and volunteering screening policies of the parish I affiliate with, in the Archdiocese of Toronto. I understand that participation in this training does not itself authorise me to engage in ministry with minors until all required screening, background checks, and approvals are checked, returned and cleared by my affiliate parish and Archdicoese of Toronto.
