Breakout Speaker

Sr. Hae-Jin Lim
Sr. Hae-Jin Lim describes her vocation story as one rooted not in her own faithfulness, but in God’s. Fourteen years ago, she entered the community of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians—also known as the Salesian Sisters of St. John Bosco—expecting to say, “I tried, but it didn’t work,” but her curiosity and the encouragement of a friend discerning the priesthood led her down an unexpected path. Although she didn’t think she’d stay longer than a year, Sr. Hae-Jin made her perpetual profession on August 5, 2021. Originally from Korea, she first encountered the Salesian Sisters at a youth retreat and instantly fell in love with St. John Bosco, whose saying, 'It is not enough to love the young; they must know that they are loved,' became the guiding motto of her religious life and a clear affirmation of her vocation to LOVE.
